TGM Vol.1 Chapter 23 – Flower Hairpin Tournament (4)

Before the man in the blue robe could say anything, another smaller man in a blue robe behind him suddenly took two steps forward, pointed at the tip of Yu Sifeng’s nose and said sternly, “Where’s your mask!”

Yu Sifeng was even more shaken by the anger of his words, and couldn’t say anything.

The man said coldly, “Do you know that you have violated the rule of the LiZe Palace? I’m asking you, do you not care about the Thirteen Commandments of the Lize Palace?”

Yu Sifeng crumpled to the ground and trembled, “This disciple knows his mistake! I’m willing to be punished!”

The man then said, “Never mind. When we return to the palace, the palace master will make the decision.”

Before he finished speaking, the man in the blue robe said, “Don’t worry. Sifeng, I ask you, how did the mask fall off?”

Yu Sifeng was terrified and whispered, “I was ordered by the Deputy Palace Master to assist Sect Leader Chu, their group of five, in catching demons. The mask was destroyed when the demons fought with each other. I’m not very good at it, so I beg the Master to punish me!”

The man in the blue robe said, “Oh,” and looked up. Everyone felt that although he was wearing a mask on his face, his eyes were like electricity, sweeping across everyone’s face, it was actually daunting.

“After the mask was destroyed, you didn’t do anything to remedy the situation, but you let more people see your true face, right?” He slowly said.

Yu Sifeng’s body was trembling and he was silent for a long while before finally nodding his head.

The man in the blue robe who reprimanded him so vehemently suddenly whispered to the man in the blue robe, “Master of the palace, although he did not break the precepts voluntarily, he was still ignoring them and letting himself go.”

The palace master nodded his head. For a moment, no one spoke up, and no one knew what kind of punishment Yu would receive.

Suddenly, a small figure stood up behind him and said in a loud voice, “Sifeng broke the law in order to save us. He was in a critical situation and he had no choice, so don’t punish him!”

When everyone turned around, they saw Xuanji standing behind Yu Sifeng without an expression, her clear eyes gazing at the mask of the masked palace master, neither afraid nor nervous.

When Linglong saw her running out to help Yu Sifeng without a word, and people from the Lize Palace on the other side, she couldn’t help but be afraid, and quietly pulled her back, motioning her not to talk nonsense.

However, Xuanji indifferently continued, “Sifeng saved my life and that of my Sixth Brother. How can we let our benefactor be punished because of this, Sixth Brother, don’t you agree?”

Zhong Minyan was originally hesitant to go up and defend Yu Sifeng, after all, Chu Yinghong was here, and he didn’t dare to be presumptuous. But when he saw Xuanji coming out and mentioning himself, he couldn’t help himself, so he nodded and said loudly, “Yes! Sifeng is our benefactor and our best friend! He said that the first person who saw his face was a lifelong buddy. Since he is a good brother, we can’t see him being punished for no reason! I beg the Palace Master to think twice!”

The palace master smiled and said warmly, “This is what you told them, Sifeng?”

Yu Sifeng was silent for a moment and nodded his head.

The palace master then said, “The joke of my apprentice has been taken seriously by you two. This is a family matter of the Palace, I do not wish to talk about it. Thank you for your kindness to him… Sifeng, get up and go back to the palace to talk about it.”

Yu Sifeng immediately got up and walked silently to the blue-robed and masked procession, never raising his head again.

The palace master arched his hands to Chu Yinghong and apologized, “I’ve made you all laugh. It’s not too late, let’s go and pay our respects to Chu Master.”

Chu Yinghong touched her lips slightly, swallowed back the words for a plea, smiled and said: “Disciples speak without any excuse, please do not be offended, Palace Master. “

The crowd headed for the top of Shaoyang Peak.

“Palace Master!” Someone yelled sharply from behind. “I don’t know whether it’s human life or the mask that matters, but right or wrong, always have to be clear. Is it not wrong to let someone else’s life be in danger, as opposed to a mask?”

When the Palace Master heard this, he suddenly stopped again and looked back.

It was Xuanji again, standing straight in the middle of the scene, looking at him without fear.

He was thoughtful and looked at her for a moment, but his eyes were clear.

“It’s hard to decide whether it’s right or wrong. He said, “Miss Chu is still very young, so I’m afraid she doesn’t understand the reason why. If everything in the world could be easily divided into right and wrong, there would be no need for disputes.”

Xuanji shook his head, “To the Palace Master, it was wrong for Sifeng to let us see his true face. To us, however, he is a friend and benefactor. Even if it is hard to distinguish between right and wrong, there is always a difference in importance. Can a commandment be worth more than two lives?.”

“How can you define the rules of the Lize Palace?” The sharp-voiced blue-robed guest at the back roared again, he had not yet finished, immediately cut off by the Palace Master waving his hand.

“Miss Chu is the daughter of the head of the Chu family.” The palace master said slowly, “But this is a matter of family affairs for the Lize Palace, it is not appropriate for outsiders to interfere.”

Chu Yinghong was afraid of making a scene, so she hurriedly said, “Xuanji, this has nothing to do with you, don’t talk nonsense!”

Xuanji said calmly, “It’s true that the precepts of the Lize Palace have nothing to do with me. But the matter of my good friends is my concern. Since there are so many of you, I naturally can’t do anything about it. I know what’s right and what’s wrong, but can you?”

“You…!” The impulsive blue-robed man was about to yell again, but finally forced himself to hold it back and turned his head to not look at her.

“Xuanji, stop it!” Du Minxing pulled her behind him with a heavy face and cupped his fist in salute to the palace master, “Little Sister is young and angry and has offended the palace master, I beg the palace master not to take it to heart.”

The palace master actually laughed and clapped his hands, “Good! Yes! Sure enough, a tiger father has daughters like him! Hall Master Chu, the Shaoyang Sect is really terrifying. It’s envious.”

The crowd listened to his words without any sarcasm and irritation, and finally heaved a sigh of relief. Fortunately, the Palace Master was generous, otherwise it would cause problems with Lize Palace, and would cause disgrace to both sides.

“Sifeng.” The palace master suddenly called his name.

Yu Sifeng hurriedly stood out, knelt down and said, “The disciple is here.”

“You have indeed become good friends with Miss Chu and Young Master Zhong?”

The strange question he asked gave Yu Sifeng a cold shock. After a long hesitation, he finally said, “Yes! In my life, I have never known what a friend is. When I saw them, I understood what it means to be in harmony.”

The palace master was in deep thought for a long time, and then he said, “In that case, the thirteenth commandment has nothing to do with you from now on. Today the palace will satisfy your hearts…”

He gazes at Yu Sifeng, Xuanji and Zhong Minyan for a moment, his gaze so intense that it sends shivers down their spine.

“There will be no regrets in the future.”

Yu Sifeng’s body was in turmoil, and his fingers scratched the ground so hard that they made five deep marks. His forehead was dripping with sweat, and he wondered if it was out of awe or something else.

I don’t know how long it took, but he suddenly raised his head, took a deep look at the Palace Master, then hung his head and whispered, “I obey.”

The palace master nodded his head and waved his sleeves gently, holding himself steadily, while turning away.

“Miss Chu, there is no absolute right or wrong in this world. You are straightforward and will inevitably encounter setbacks in the future. In the future, I hope you won’t pursue right or wrong in everything. You should know that thousands of people have thousands of rights and wrongs… That’s all I have to say, so be careful.”

After everyone finally walked away, and only a few children stood there blankly, wondering what he meant.

“Xuanji…” Linglong grabbed her hand with lingering fear and complained, “You are so courageous! How can you argue so much with that masked man! He is still the palace Master of Lize Palace! I’ll be damned if I let father know!”

Xuanji lowered her eyelashes and asked in a small voice, “Did I… say something wrong just now? But, it’s obvious that they didn’t care.”

Du Minxing looked at her and shook his head: “Didn’t the palace master finally say that there is no absolute right or wrong? Why are you still arguing?”

“Black and white are incompatible, so how can there be no absolute right and wrong. Right is right, wrong is wrong.”

Du Minxing was so astonished that he couldn’t help but look deeply into her big black and white eyes.

Xuanji is a talented and intelligent girl, but she has a weird personality who believes in her own truths, so she is right to the end, and what others say is useless.

He knows that this kind of temperament is very dangerous. It’s just that she’s young and lazy, and people are so annoyed by her inattention that it’s easy to overlook her almost paranoid thoughts.

She is still so young, and when she argues with others, she is already very methodical, neither humble nor overbearing, and has an arrogant air about her brows.

He hesitated for a moment before saying, “Right or wrong is always in the human heart. Xuanji, you are not someone else. How can you know what is right or wrong in other people’s hearts? How can you impose your own thoughts on others?”

Xuanji was stunned for a moment and then laughed carelessly, “Then don’t force others to put right or wrong on me, either.”

Du Minxing was speechless for a moment.

She is very dangerous. If she continues like this, if she meets with an irreversible setback, she will become a demon.

Du Minxing sighed and was about to give her a good lecture when Linglong laughed in front of him, “All right, all right! Anyway, Sifeng doesn’t need to be punished, and the Palace Master doesn’t blame Xuanji, the Hairpin Ceremony will still start, so what’s the big deal? Come on, finish the fish and go back to the room to change into new clothes. Mom has made us several sets of clothes!”

After saying that, she dragged Xuanji and Zhong Minyan away, calling back to him, “Brother, if you don’t come back, we’ll eat all the fish! I won’t leave you a single scaled fish!”

When Du Minxing looked back, Xuanji was smiling innocently under Linglong’s twittering, and her whole face looked as if it was carved from jade, she was clearly just a simple child.

He sighed a little in his heart, hoping that he had thought too much.

He said, “You have the nerve to say that when Minyan and I caught the fish.”

He laughed and walked away.

  3. How can being a straight forward person become a demon? Demon or God they’re just the same. Demon being the bad ones while God being the good ones isnt it right?
