TGM Vol.2 Chapter 19 – The Truth About Qu Ru (6)

They are all sweating profusely because of this man, and they have been chasing him for two days and nights. Ling Long rushed forward to teach him a lesson and sternly said to him, “Where do you think you are going?” She swung he sword in her hand as if she was about to stab him.

Rou Yu hurriedly stopped her, “Miss Chu, don’t be impulsive! We must be professional!”

The man’s other hand was clutching his broken arm, and half of his body was stained with blood, but he didn’t even groan in pain, which made them somewhat impressed.

Zhong Minyan lowered his sword and said in a deep voice, “Who are you? Why do you want to manipulate those Qu’ru?”

The man just laughed and after a moment, hissed, “What’s the point of talking? Just kill me.”

Rou Yu stepped forward before the others could get more irritated, and said softly, “You are stubborn. Why are you talking nonsense? As the saying goes, those who know how to do the right thing are good people. I just want to ask you, why are you disturbing people’s livelihood? What’s the purpose? If you tell me the truth, I can guarantee that you will not be harmed.”

The man laughed and quipped, “You people are always hypocrites. If you want to kill me, kill me, I won’t frown at you.”

“You can’t say that.” he said. “I am Li’Ze Palace’s Ruo Yu, the others next to you are also disciples of respectable schools, so we will not say one thing and mean another. As long as you tell us who’s behind it and what you want, we will not break our promise.”

The man laughed bitterly, “Bah! The world’s most famous schools are all filthy, and none is dirtier than you!”

“What did you say to him ? If he wants to die, let him die!” Linglong is furious.

When Ruo Yu saw how stubborn he was, he didn’t know what to say. Lu Yanran, who is graceful, gives him a smile and says, “Why are you so angry, brother? I’m sure we can guess what you’re going to say if you don’t say anything. I’m sure you’re not a human being,”

As soon as the words came out, everyone was at a loss, but Zhong Min Yan was quick enough to understand that it wasn’t a rebuke. He’s a demon!

Linglong let out an ‘ah’. In her mind, she had always thought that demons were just like Qu’Ru or Tiangou, but she had never thought that there were demons that could transform into human form and speak human language. In the moonlight at the entrance of the cave, she saw that the man opposite her looked like a wild beast, but she only thought it was because of his strange appearance.

The man made a snorting sound and did not say anything.

Lu Yanran added. “I have heard that there are many human demons who can speak human language, but most of them are scattered and live separately. There are also those who want to cause trouble and become kings of the mountains, and those who want to become fierce demons of the water, who are often killed by cultivators. Even though you won’t tell us who the mastermind behind it is, we can guess that it’s another group of unruly demons trying to harm the people. I wanted to give you a chance to live, but you didn’t want it. Then don’t blame us for being rude!”

As soon as she had said this, they all raised their swords, pointing them at him with great fury, intending to put him to death.

The man laughed long and sadly, and said in a low voice, “It was my bad luck. Forget it. What is there to fear now?”

Suddenly, he reached into his arms and took out a half-length object, lit it with a pinch of his finger, and was about to throw it up.

Ling Long and the others thought he was trying to trick them, but they were inexperienced enough to cover their heads and faces and retreated. Suddenly the man’s arm turned and the object was thrown towards the hole!

Although the sword net can block humans and demons, it doesn’t respond to dead things. Seeing that the thing was thrown out, it exploded with a ‘boom’, spreading dots of blood-red fluorescence in in the air.

Ling Long saw that he was sending out an early warning signal, so she thought there must be other accomplices around, so she couldn’t help but look to the entrance of the cave.

The man shouted, “I’ll drag one of you to the afterlife even if I have to die today!”

After yelling, he pounces on Ling Long with his long hands, apparently planning to take her down with him. Ling Long was too distracted to take advantage of him, and was too stunned when he was about to grab her.

When it seemed that it was too late, Zhong Minyan and Rou Yu both moved at the same time. The man screamed out as he was hit in the chest by several pellets of iron, and Zhong Minyan’s sword pierces his abdomen.

Linglong saw that the person in front of her quickly lunged at her, and then became bloody. She was so frightened that her legs went limp, and her vest was suddenly tugged. When she looked back, it was Lu Yanran. As soon as she pulled her back, she frowned and said, “You’re dazed. You want to die at a time like this?” This is just like the speech that Ling Long used to save her last time.

Ling Long felt so dumb that she couldn’t say thank you, so she hung her head and pretended to be a mute.

Zhong Minyan retracted the sword and flicked the blood off it, saying, “In the end, this matter has not been investigated clearly. But at least one thing has been done. We have to take the corpse back to Uncle Zhao and the others to take a look at it.”

Ruo Yu saw the demon lying on the ground, out of breath, with a puddle of blood underneath it, looking somewhat miserable. He couldn’t help saying, “It’s really not an easy thing for a demon to walk upright in human form and speak. It is a pity that it was so vicious that it ended up like this. But when I saw his actions just now, he seemed to have accomplices with him, so it didn’t seem like a simple act of rebellion. We don’t know what plans are behind this.”

Lu Yanran withdrew the Sword-Net. Everyone leaned towards the entrance of the cave and looked out. They saw the barren mountain and ridges outside. They didn’t know how many caves were left to check. They couldn’t help but sigh.

Zhong Minyan said, “Forget it, it looks like this demon is the one who manipulated Qu’Ru. Let’s investigate later, we’ll find some clues.”

He bent down and brought up the corpse, and everyone flew out of the cave with their swords. Just after crossing a large piece of rock, they saw a sword flying in front with two people, it was Xuanji leading Yu Sifeng, coming towards them.

Linglong rushed to meet them and said, “What’s sister doing here! What accident happened?”

Xuanji stared at me, “Huh? Didn’t you put out the warning signal? How…”

Zhong Minyan laughed, “We didn’t put it there! Look, it’s him!”

He shook the demon corpse in his hand, and the blood dripped from it. Seeing his terrifying look, it’s ferocious appearance made her back numb and she muttered, “Is this… the man who manipulated Qu’Ru? Why is he dead…”

Ling Long laughed heedlessly, “What man! He’s not human, he’s a demon! He wants to die and won’t tell us who the mastermind is, so of course we have to fulfill his wish!”

Xuanji was silent, Yu Sifeng asked, “So, can we put an end to the Qu’Ru Rebellion here?”

Zhong Min Yan nodded, “That’s right, isn’t it? He’s probably still got a partner, but he won’t come to Wang Xian for a while. I think we should leave Wang Xian Town first and find out more information along the way, we will be able to investigate it.”

Yu Sifeng saw the corpse in his hands and wondered, “Is he really dead? But…”

Zhong Minyan shook the corpse nonchalantly, and smiled, “It’s life is over, and it’s already dead. A sword pierces the heart, and a pellet of iron pierces the chest! It cannot survive!”

As soon as the words fell, he saw the demon corpse that was shaken by him suddenly moved his hands and feet. In the midst of the screams of the crowd, the corpse suddenly pushed Zhong Minyan hard, broke free from his grasp, and fell down.

“Ah!” Zhong Minyan himself was taken aback. He was about to go after them when Yu Sifeng said, “Demons don’t die so easily. Quickly go after them!”
